Intelligence Marketing Site

UI Visual design   •   international collaboration   •   2017

Tigerspike wanted to redesign the Intelligence Dashboard section of their website, filled with more visual finesse, a strong products page and content to help guide new users through an online setup. Eventually it will progressively enhance into a full microsite and perhaps a hub for users to access FAQs, video-guides and other community content.

The Problem

3 stakeholder groups; the Intelligence team, Tigerspike Next and senior management all wanted different solutions to their perceived problem - how can we represent the Intelligence Dashboard on tigerspike.com. I acted as a mediator between the stakeholders, all in various global regions, for designing a solution which helped drive their indifferent requirements. The cost of production was a key factor as budget restraints prohibited, for MVP at least, an ambitious output or a full XD process. A key success factor was to deliver a cost-effective solution in the quickest time possible before the tigerspike.com relaunch, which serviced the requests of users by helping them install and set up the software.

Discovery

Aligning international efforts

With the Tigerspike Next team being located in London, whom takes ownership of tigerspike.com, and the Intelligence team located in Singapore [where I was based at the time], the first challenge focused on communication/discovery. 7+/- hours difference on the clock led to multiple early-hour meetings to gather our thoughts and collect and refine requirements to align all stakeholders in the same direction.

After multiple meetings and pivots on the purpose of this project and visual research on the proposed products page idea, we agreed on mocking up a low-cost solution for remote collaborative wireframes - using Google Sheets - it allowed us to easily create the information architecture, and layout and content strategy based on the outcomes from our meetings and mini-workshops.

Proposed visual direction

Tigerspike.com was going through its final rounds of the redesign in September, which was the month I flew back to London and collaborated with the local team there on the new art direction. With the content of the Intelligence Dashboard section verified and the new dark-themed confirmed for the relaunch, I used the relaunch theme and information I had available to create the assets and new designs for the Intelligence microsite. My designs were used by the Tigerspike Next team to assist them in building the site in their WYSIWYG editor in their next 90-day sprint capacity.

The final designs demonstrated an art direction to the Tigerpsike Next team, which was used to inform their build and final output. They also used the asset library I created for the microsite and the corresponding marketing campaign on relaunch.

The Results

This short project ended with 3 groups of happy internal stakeholders gaining confidence in working with one another, in delivering the 1st stage of the Intelligence Dashboard microsite, complete with rich inspirational visuals and easy-to-understand content which helps onboard new users while also attracting new customers. A noteworthy fact, we saw an increase in direct business leads (4 converted within the first month). Success factors hit on this product were achieving a quick speed-to-market, increased engagement and increased conversion rates compared to the Intelligence website preceding it.
